A step forward for sustainability and refugee support: the partnership between Hypercube and Switzerland for UNHCR.
Water is a core challenge when providing support to refugees, in 2023 UNHCR’s WASH programs provided life-saving assistance to over 16.7 million people in critical regions such as Chad, Sudan, Ethiopia, and Bangladesh. But as water crises escalate, innovative solutions are more urgent than ever.
The purpose is a dual impact:
1. Environmental: water credits support the mitigation of global water footprint through transparent, real-time and traceable water data from virtuous processes.
2. Social 50% of the proceeds from water credits within the partnership will fund water and sanitation programs for refugees and vulnerable communities, such as the construction of solar-powered wells and essential water distribution networks.
This partnership is meant to drive change and transforms corporate water reuse into a force for good, addressing water scarcity, climate change, and social inequality. Together, we empower businesses to build a sustainable future while supporting the world’s most vulnerable communities in regions where help is needed most.
“This partnership marks a pivotal milestone for Hypercube, aligning innovation with purpose. By combining technology and compassion, we’re not only empowering businesses to make water management more sustainable but also channeling that impact to support refugees and vulnerable communities. This is a testament to our belief that innovation should serve humanity and the planet, creating lasting change where it’s needed most.” Pietro Gorgazzini, Co-founder and CEO, Hypercube
