As the world faces the pressing challenge of decarbonization, Hypercube has joined MAN Es in Rotterdam together with other partners during the Carbon Neutral Challenge 2050 event. Jacopo Gerli, Head of Sourcing at Hypercube, has shared how water credit technology could be leveraged to enhance the transparency, solidity and traceability of carbon credits generated from CCS systems as compared to other decarbonization processes, carbon sequestration can be accurately measured in real-time instead of being estimated.
With CCS technologies becoming increasingly energy-efficient, they present a crucial opportunity in the fight against climate change but they often turned out to be extremely expensive to deploy. Hypercube water credit technology applied to CCS carbon credits could significantly improve stakeholder confidence and participation in carbon markets, resulting in premium offset which could accelerate the ROI on large projects.
